Poppy’s Home Vets Ltd is a registered practice with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Due to the nature of the service provided it is not possible for us to offer surgical procedures, hospitalisation or other treatment modalities such as x-rays. We work with partner practices to provide these services.
Opening hours:
We are open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm. We also offer pre-booked appts on Saturday between 10am and 12pm (please note these appts MUST be pre-booked during Monday to Friday as the phones and emails are not monitored during weekends).
We are not open on bank holidays.
We may be able to offer appts outside our normal working hours. These must be organised directly with the veterinary surgeon and are subject to availability.
We reserve the right to charge for the consultation in full if when arriving at your address for a pre-booked appt you or your representative are not available for the appointment. Please let us know, prior to your appointment, if your pet has shown any aggression to a stranger before. We reserve the right to refuse treatment if, at any time during the consultation, it becomes unsafe. We will always try and work towards an alternative treatment plan. Nervous cats should be confined in a small room with no furniture (a bathroom is ideal); otherwise, the appointment may not be able to go ahead, and you may still be charged for travel and time.
If we have not seen you before, we will contact your previous vet to obtain your pet's history before treatment can commence. We will, in return, inform them of any treatment and medications given by Poppy's Home Vets Ltd, if you wish to continue using them.
All medications, whether for pets or humans, have risks and benefits. Whilst we will always strive to ensure administering medication to your pet is as safe as possible, adverse reactions can occur. Being an informed owner is the best defence against serious side effects of any medication, please discuss any concerns you may have with your vet. It is vital to always inform your vet of any previous adverse medication reaction your pet has experienced at your appt.
We are not an emergency service, if you think your pet needs emergency care then please contact our out-of-hours service provider (Pennards, Sevenoaks) who will offer treatment for any emergency that occurs out of normal practice hours. Please note, they do not offer home visits so you will need to arrange your own transport to their premises.
Poppy's Home Vets Ltd have professional indemnity insurance to the value of £250, 000.00. We provide our veterinary services and products on the basis that any loss, claim or cost shall be limited to, and shall not exceed the above mentioned sum. Any dispute will be referred to the Veterinary Defence Society to handle.

Whilst we make every effort to send out vaccination reminders the responsibility to keep vaccinations up to date remains with the owner.
We recommend keeping all pets insured, please ask us if you like more information regarding this. Please note we are not able to recommend individual providers.
